Honest answers

Frequently asked questions

The things families actually want to know about home care — answered plainly, no runaround. Don't see your question? Call us: we answer everything.

Cost & Getting Started

How much does in-home care cost?
It depends on how many hours and what level of support your loved one needs — which is why we don't hide behind vague answers. Call (785) 997-0154 and we'll give you straightforward pricing for your exact situation. The consultation and in-home assessment are always free, with no obligation.
Is there a minimum number of hours required?
We keep scheduling flexible — from a few hours a week to around-the-clock support. We'll build a plan around what your family actually needs, and you can adjust it as needs change.
How quickly can care start?
Often within days. After your free consultation we schedule a no-cost home assessment, build the care plan, and match a caregiver. If your family is in an urgent situation, tell us — we prioritize urgent starts.
Do I have to sign a long-term contract?
No. Care continues as long as it's helping your family, and schedules can be adjusted or paused as your needs change. We earn your trust visit by visit — not with a contract that traps you.

Caregivers & Consistency

Will my loved one get the same caregiver every visit?
This is one of the biggest frustrations families have with other agencies — and we take it seriously. We match one primary caregiver to your loved one based on personality and needs, and we work hard to keep that match consistent. If a caregiver is ever unavailable, we brief the backup on your loved one's routines before they arrive.
What happens if a caregiver can't make a shift?
We don't leave you stranded. Our team arranges a qualified backup caregiver and communicates with you right away — you'll never find out about a missed shift by discovering nobody showed up.
What if the caregiver isn't a good fit?
Just tell us — no awkwardness, no hurt feelings. Matching matters more than anything, and we'll re-match your loved one with a different caregiver quickly. Your family should never feel stuck.
Are your caregivers screened and trained?
Every caregiver passes comprehensive background checks and reference verification before ever entering a home, and receives ongoing training. We're a KDHE-licensed agency — the State of Kansas' standard for supportive care.
How will I know how my loved one is doing?
We keep families in the loop with regular updates, and you can reach our care team anytime with questions or concerns. You should never feel out of touch with your loved one's care.

Services & Coverage

What's the difference between your care and home health care?
We provide non-medical supportive care: personal care, companionship, meals, homemaking, and safety support. Home health involves skilled nursing ordered by a doctor. Many families use both — and our care often fills the everyday gaps that medical visits don't cover.
What areas does EriphillCare serve?
We serve Douglas County (Lawrence, Eudora, Baldwin City, Lecompton), Johnson County (Overland Park, Olathe, Shawnee, Lenexa), Wyandotte County (Kansas City KS, Bonner Springs), and Shawnee County (Topeka) in Kansas.
Can care hours change as my loved one's needs change?
Absolutely — that's the point of home care. We review the care plan regularly and adjust hours, services, or caregiver support whenever your family's situation changes.
My parent says they don't need help. What do we do?
This is incredibly common, and pushing rarely works. Many families start with just companionship or light housekeeping a few hours a week — it feels like help around the house, not 'care.' Once trust builds, most seniors welcome more support. We're happy to talk through approaches that have worked for other families.
